We’re only a few weeks away from Scotland’s biggest music festival TRNSMT. Taking place on Glasgow’s famous Glasgow Green from the 7 – 9th of July, the festival is packed full of performances from acts both big and small. With so much variety and good music, it can sometimes be difficult to choose what acts to go see. Well we’re here to lend a helping hand, here is our list of unmissable acts for TRNSMT 2017.
Preparing to take to the King Tuts stage is Glasgow four piece, The Vegan Leather. One of the most artistic and dance provoking acts Scotland currently has to offer. Their almost eccentric style and ferocious groove results in a mesmeric live performance. Having recently supported Paolo Nutini at New Year and The View, they are quick on the rise and quite possibly a future festival headliner. For a genuine feel good set and some unmissable disco influence head to the king tuts stage on Friday for The Vegan Leather.
An act well known amongst indie music fans and one of our unmissable acts is Liverpool’s finest Circa Waves. With two remarkable albums under their belt, their set is jam packed with indie anthems and summer vibes just perfect for this festival. With songs such as T-Shirt Weather, Stuck In My Teeth and Fire That Burns they have the guitar riffs to bring in the sunshine no matter the weather. Their energetic and boisterous set will take place on Saturday.
If you’re looking for a slice of pop and catching melodies, Fickle Friends are your go to. With the ability to write irresistible pop songs and feel good numbers, their live set is as alluring as the music itself. A live performance full of retro influenced pop, vibrancy and glowing colours. Stand out songs such as Glue, Say No More and Swim are set to ring out across a welcoming King Tuts crowd on Saturday.
Some more unmissable home grown Scottish talent is The Van T’s. Fronted by twins Hannah and Chloe Van Thompson, the quartet scream 90’s grunge. They perform with a captivating screeching ferocity, paired with crashing drums and soaring guitar riffs. Playing the king tuts stage on Saturday, The Van T’s will come armed with their loud in your face vibe and ready to pack a punch.
Taking to TRNSMT on Saturday is one of the UK’s most loved singer/songwriters George Ezra. Having been locked away for sometime working on that difficult second album, he is back better than before. Just dropping his new single last week, he is set to showcase to the TRNSMT audience just what else is in store! Not to forget about then now older classics Budapest, Blame It On Me and Cassy O’, all of which will certainly go down a treat.
Last but certainly not least on our unmissable list is English rock band The Amazons. If some sing-a-long choruses and heavy guitar riffs are what you need to complete your weekend at TRNSMT, then seeing The Amazons on the King Tuts stage on Sunday will definitely be for you. Their performance comes not long after the release of their debut album, so it’ll be a set full of all the singles, fan favourites and many more!
