Pvris @ O2 Academy, Glasgow – 27/11/17

With Tyne and Coin in support, American Trio Pvris returned to a Glasgow stage for the first time since the release of their second album All We Know Of Heaven, All We Need Of Hell.

Opening with the lead single of their new album Heaven, Pvris’ set was instantly brought to life. With no hesitation from the crowd in joining in, it was instantly recognisable the band are a force to be reckoned with. Moving into their debut single St.Patrick, the set gracefully drifted between the old and the new. Their set was greyscale, armed with screens and street lights, it set the scene of a dark night. Their outfits to the glimmer of Lynn’s white hair made it feel almost like a black and white film.

Lead singers Lynn’s vocals were possibly the most captivating part of the evening. Her voice fluttered through octaves effortlessly, floating around Glasgow’s academy. Energy was high throughout, except for a stripped back and quiet version of Same Soul lit by the audience’s torches. The drums pounded and choruses were shouted throughout. Closing with the unexpected No Mercy, there was no stopping the band’s wrath. An overall worthy and spectacular live performance, completely captivating and worth the wait.
