Ones to Watch: Adam French

For the past year, Adam French as an artist has been fairly quiet. However, he is very much back and in full swing too. Following on from Sam Fender last month, singer/songwriter Adam French is this month’s one to watch.

Initially releasing his first EP More to Life in 2014, French’s raspy, hypnotic voice hooked a number of music fans. His voice comes in tow with beautiful piano melodies like on Punchbag Love to the boisterous, drum-driven sound of Hunter. His music is versatile, no song the same but all equally as captivating to the ear. His last works until now was his Face to Face EP of last year. After a year of musical silence, he returns armed with his Weightless EP.

Weightless is mellowed and soft throughout, the vocals do most of the talking. There is a distinct beauty to this collection of songs. The vocal shakes and flowing guitars of The Rat are almost breathtaking. The stories behind the EP seem haunted and are grasping. The wonders of the EP and Adam French can’t really be put into worthy words. The only way to justify is to listen. There are big things ahead of Adam French and that’s why he is one of our Ones to Watch.
