Releasing their latest single Overthink on Friday was London quartet, FOURS.
FOURS have become known for their charming indie pop music and Overthink is just that. The songs begins with a delicate vocal riff and a deep electronic bouncing instrumental. Lead singer Edith’s beautiful and soulful voice is quite rightly the main focus of the song. The instrumental is not over complicated possibly to let her vocals take the lead. Despite this delicacy to the first few minutes of the song, lyrics contain anger and a bit of bite. A strong staccato chorus flows into a loud and vibrant bridge. A more melodic and soft chorus comes in before a burst of one final chorus and a wonderful vocal showcase. Overall a mesmerising slice of pop with some darker undertones.
