The mighty Electric Fields has returned with it’s first line-up announcement! Taking place at Drumlanrig Castle on the 1st and 2nd of September 2017 here’s the lowdown on the first run of acts to be gracing the festivals stages this year…
Frightened Rabbit
Announced as headliners for this years festival, the iconic indie-rock outfit will be gracing the main-stage over the weekend and it’s safe to say we cannot wait! Having had an explosive 2016 Frightened Rabbit are a clear choice for most festivals this year. 2016 saw the band take it to the next level with the release of their fifth studio album and a three day sold out residency at Glasgow Barrowlands! This year they take on a world tour with dates already selling out and continue to build an ever growing loyal fan following, with every endeavour they take on, we are certain their headline set will be one to remember…
The Jesus & Mary Chain
Afters prayers of a long awaited return to the stage were answered back in 2007, we then received the exciting news late last year that we would be hearing a brand new studio album from the East Kilbride alternative outfit due to be released in March of this year. What a way to finish off your summer by catching these guy’s at Electric Fields this year. It is looking to be an incredible experience and special performance from the band.
Arab Strap
The line-up continues to get better and better with the edition of one of Scotland’s most powerful bands, during the height of their career they released six studio albums before their 2006 departure from the Scottish music scene. They returned to the stage just last year, performing their first shows in a decade to eagerly awaiting fans. Now they go on to play Electric Fields this September! A show not to be missed, sure to be full of creativity, originality and ingenious musicianship, they make a brilliant addition to the weekend…
Crash Club
Hailed as one of Scotland’s brightest stars in regards to up and coming talent and described as electro dance rock the Glasgow outfit will provide a fun twist to the overall festival. Giving an infectious burst to the weekends line-up. A performance not to be missed!
The Amazing Snakeheads front-man Dale Barclay returned in 2016 with a brand new project And Yet It Moves! Providing another jolt away from other genres on show at this years festival. A dark twist on a pop – punk/indie sounding band. An intriguing performance not to be missed.
Brat and the Boneman
Alternative rock three piece Brat and the Boneman conclude the first line-up announcement for the festival. Pitched as a definite one to watch this year, their live shows are described as energetic and raucous. A clear favourite to take Scotland by storm this year and one definitely not to be missed!
