On Wednesday Electric Fields announced their Line up and it’s one of the best festival Line Up’s of 2016. So naturally we need to talk about how magical its gonna be!
Electric Fields will take place on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th of August this year at Drumlanrig Castle in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. Now if you were looking for the first reason as to why it’s gonna be magical, it takes place on Drumlanrig Castle grounds. Two full days of cutting around a castle, catching some incredible sets and listening to some cracking music, now that’s magical.
The second reason is the line up is INCREDIBLE. Ranging from the UK’s Biggest Acts to Scotland’s most promising upcoming bands! They only have Primal Scream and The Charlatans headlining! 2 of the UK’s most loved bands and they’re most definitely worthy of the slot. We’ve not even discussed the rest of the line up yet and Electric Fields have already blown us away! Over the course of the festival, acts will perform over 4 stages, the Main, the Second, the Tim Peaks and the Sneaky Peaks stages. As much as we would love to go into in-depth detail about every artist on the bill, it would take you a good week to read to this post. So instead we are gonna suggest some MUST SEE acts that you need to catch if you’re headed to Electric Fields!
Sundara Karma
Sundara Karma are a 4 piece, quirky, indie band from Reading in England. There’s absolutely no danger you will not love this band! With infectious guitar riffs and uplifting choruses, Sundara Karma will have you dancing in no time. The band is one the UK’s most exciting new acts and we predict they may be in for some HUGE success. Flame is currently one of our favourite songs and their latest single A Young Understanding is incredible! Without a doubt you’ll be hearing lots about these guys very soon. So why not check them out before they become the next big thing? Even if you’re not headed to Electric Fields (Why on Earth not?) give Sundara Karma a listen. You never know, they just might be your new favourite band!
The Van T’s
The Van T’s are a 4 piece from Glasgow who are often described as a “90′s dream!” The group were formed in 2013 by twins Chloe and Hannah Van Thompson and were later joined by bassist, Joanne Forbes and drummer, Shaun Hood. After catching this band live for the first time whilst floating around Strange Behaviors Festival, we’ve been obsessed. Their song’s Growler and Laguna Babe will definitely get a crowd going. We can guarantee Laguna Babe is a tune that will get stuck in your head. We love nothing more than some strong females fronting a band and doing it PERFECTLY. The Van T’s are the perfect band.(like seriously) With their glitter and amazing live show you would be a fool not catch them at Electric Fields! They’ll be playing the main stage at the festival, so make sure you’re down there to dance along.
The Lapelles
The Lapelles are a young indie band from East Kilbride. Having recently released their singles Snakehips/Seventeen and securing a support slot with hotly tipped band Vant, the guys are set to be huge. I know we’ve hammered on about The Lapelles but you seriously need to get their music in your ears! With tunes like that, there’s no way they can disappoint. They’re one of our favourite Scottish bands and if you give them the chance, they’ll be one of yours! They’ve produced some of the best guitar parts we’ve heard in a long time, so get down and see them play the Second Stage at Electric Fields.
Alongside these bands, they’re some fantastic acts from all genres that would be definitely worth checking out during the festival. With loads of amazing big and small Scottish bands you need to go to Electric Fields. We’’ll put our MASSIVE list of recommendations at the bottom of this post. Without a doubt it’ll be an amazing weekend and let us hope the sun will be shining!
