How did you guys form? What inspired you to call yourself Jaws?

Connor: We met at college in early 2012, I was writing songs and fancied getting a band together, we all did the same course.

You’ve recently released your new album ‘Simplicity’, How are you feeling about the reception that it has received so far?

Connor: It’s been quite overwhelming to be honest, which is very cool!

What was the writing process behind the album, how did you guys tackle it?

Connor: Same as always, a mixture of me bring demos to the table and a mixture of jamming until we had songs, there wasn’t really a thought process, we always just write what we enjoy playing.

What’s been a stand out moment for you this year?

Connor: Releasing the album

You have a tour scheduled for the end of the month, what are your anticipations for it? Are there any dates in particular that you are looking forward to?

Connor: We just can’t wait to get on the road, we haven’t toured for a whole year now and I think we’ve played maybe 3 or 4 shows this year so yeah very excited for every show.

What have you got planned for the next six months? What can fans look forward?

Connor: In all honesty we haven’t thought past the 2nd of december (when the tour ends) all i know is that I’m going back to work on the 5th ahah

What is the music scene in and around Birmingham like? What bands should people check out?

Connor: There’s a sick new band called The Lizards, everyone needs to hear them.

If there is anything that stands out… How do Scottish shows compare to English dates?

Connor: The fans are always up for it in Scotland I love it.

Quickfire round! What the first gig you ever went to?

Connor: Panic! At The Disco

If you could have written any song ever, which one would it be?

Connor: 1979 – The Smashing Pumpkins

Describe Jaws in 3 words

Connor: Not quite sure

What’s the worst gift you have ever given or received?

Connor:  I tweeted once saying J fancied a twix and someone gave me one at the show so that was cool!

What is your favourite gig or festival experience?

Connor: Bestival is always cool, i like that one.
